Liberal Democrat candidate Anna Sabine to fight for Frome and East Somerset at General Election

Anna Sabine is the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Frome and East Somerset in the July 2024 General Election, as announced earlier today by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

Liberal Democrat candidate Anna Sabine will be campaigning for action to tackle the cost of living crisis, the NHS crisis and the sewage scandal. As a business owner, Anna also wants to use her business experience to campaign for support to protect the local economy in difficult times.

For months now, Anna has been meeting with local residents up and down the constituency, campaigning to stop sewage being dumped into our beautiful local rivers, working with local campaigners to protect a 300-year old oak tree and speaking with business owners from Frome to Midsomer Norton.

The Liberal Democrats are on the up after beating the Conservatives at the May local elections and winning four stunning parliamentary by-election victories since

the last General Election, including in Somerton and Frome. Responding to Rishi Sunak calling a General Election, Anna Sabine said: “I am proud to stand for Parliament for my local area and am determined to give this constituency a strong voice in Westminster. The towns and villages in this new constituency have historically been taken for granted by their Conservative MPs.

“I will be a local champion who will fight to protect our waterways, save our health services and support local businesses. I want to continue the work of Sarah Dyke, until now MP in part of the constituency, who has been delivering every day for local communities.

“Every vote for the Liberal Democrats is a vote for a fair deal. It’s a vote for a party that will stand up for our community and our health services.”
